-Bluebird Gap Farm: Bluebird Gap Farm offers an exciting, family-oriented adventure and educational experience rarely seen in an urban environment. The 60-acre farm has around 150 domestic and wild animals, covered pavilion and playground, nature trail, and antique display barn features a variety of both home and farm antique pieces. Bluebird Gap Farm gives you a chance to get away from the city while being just a few minutes down the road!
-Virginia Zoo: The Virginia Zoological Park is a 53-acre zoo, located in nearby Norfolk, that is home to more than 700 animals! The Virginia Zoo offers the perfect family adventure with over 150 species of animals, educational activities, themed gardens, animal encounters, and much more!
-Colonial Williamsburg: Experience the largest outdoor educational living museum in the country, through the immersive and authentic 18th-century Colonial Williamsburg! Explore dozens of original buildings, homes, and shops reconstructed on 301 acres. Meet historic figures, tradesmen, and residents of the town and see how they live and work. Step back in time and discover the living history of our nation.
-Sandy Bottom Nature Park: This 456-acre recreational facility features two lakes, wetlands area, observation tower, nature programs, trails for hiking and biking, fishing, boat rentals, picnic areas, picnic shelters, children’s playground, camping and a beautiful Nature Center!
-Norfolk Botanical Garden: Virginia’s largest Botanical Garden blooms to life in the spring! The Norfolk Botanical Garden features 175 beautiful acres to discover, 14 miles of paths to explore, Butterfly House, 3-acre Children’s Garden, and much more!
